The snow has arrived! - originally posted 3/27/09

Well, I was slow getting around to get out this morning, but did go. Picked up a few things to make vegetable beef soup, chili and bean soup - so we will be able to eat warm meals! The vegetable beef is on in the crockpot right now.

It hadn't really been snowing too long when I left home, but I wasn't sure even going about 20 that I was going to get stopped when a stoplight turned yellow on me. But I did, thank goodness! Then everyone else around me was getting irritated because I wouldn't drive faster the rest of the trip - but I certainly didn't want a repeat.

There were 2 shopping carts in the store when I got there that weren't taken! All the lines were backed up. I spent $125 and didn't feel like I bought that much, but almost $30 was more food for the animals. Not that I think we will be in long with this, but I didn't want to take a chance on them running out.

  1. Saw on the news that there was snow out that way but didn't realize it was in Kansas. News mainly talks about Utah and North Dakota. I've had enough of snow this year. Missed 9 days of school. If we had missed one more, all 10 would have been forgiven. Instead we have to go till June 5th, ugh, or maybe if we did have the snow, I would get the 10th day ;o) Oh well things happen for a reason. Build a fire, enjoy being snug and warm in your house. Eat an extra bowl of soup for me

  2. I don't know whether to hope you get that 10th day or not! I know I would gladly give any & all snow to someone else, since I hate cold, snow & ice!

I would build a fire if I have a fireplace. Instead I have my blankie, knitting & TV as well as the dogs to keep me company right now.

  3. Keep me informed how you're doing with the snow. I know when we had the snow storm, I hated being stuck in the house, time seemed to drag.

  4. In a lot of ways, I don't mind being stuck at home, but it does seem that when you are stuck, you think of things you either need to do or that you would like to do.
