I finished the baby blanket for my friend, S's 1st grandchild this
morning. Then I blocked it while I was at work and it is now ready to
mail tomorrow.
I have restarted my sweater. Am using my sweater wheel to create the basic pattern & then adding the details myself. The vest pattern with the add on edging just wasn't coming out right in the armhole & neck area for the way I wanted it to look.
So far, so good with the trainee! He certainly seems to be trying and doesn't seem to be one of those who come in with guns blazing & ready to change everything right off the bat. Today, I had him pack the orders pretty much on his own and then he was stocking product, making boxes, putting fragile stickers on all packing materials, etc.
I nearly have him set up completely on the office network with a new computer - the new ones that S ordered from Dell are Vista. We had him connected to the internet on Monday, but not on the network. Then yesterday, he was on a network with S, but not the main office. Got him off that & then he ended up in his own network named Office, but the rest of us weren't showing on it. And he wasn't showing up on ours. So this morning, I ended up getting to work a little early & decided to roll him back to Monday & have another go at it. The flash drive that I used to set up everyone else wasn't working - I just got an error message after running it. But by the time we went home, he was on our network, it wasn't asking us for a user name & password to access it & I was able to print a test page to the printer we set up on it. Gives us 3 printers to chose from & R has the fax/printer in her office. Still don't understand why it is listing R, me & the server as being on his computer and not letting us access anything there - but maybe I can do a search online and find out if that is either required (which I can't think why it would be) or how to remove it! But for now - we are up & running. I do have to think they are probably wanting to keep him permanently, as long as he works out or they wouldn't be setting him up with a computer - they sure didn't the last person. And I think it is kind of nice to have someone with a little more muscle than I have.
