A & J are making a quick trip down. Might arrive as
early as 7:30 or 8 pm tonight. They will have dental appointments
tomorrow and A has a hair appointment in the afternoon. A quick
change of plans has J driving to Wichita tomorrow to shadow the head
of the department for rotations from ATSU. There is a very slight
possibility that he could get into Wichita for his rotation in 2010.
Most likely they will end up in Phoenix. But he was in touch with a 3rd
year student & this student was able to arrange the shadowing
on Monday.
R is giving me Thursday off, so I will be able to go to the hairdressers with A, then drive her to Wichita where we will meet J and a friend of theirs, O (lived across the hall from them in the apartment they had when they first were in NY state & who is also a former Army officer from West Point, as is J - he now works in Wichita) for dinner before they hit the road back home to Kirksville. A has class on Friday.
I have been thinking that I would post the "pattern" that I used for the baby blanket that I posted last time - in case anyone would like to make it. I used size 15 needles, cast on 85 stitches. Worked garter stitch for 5 rows (knitting every row), then changed to stockinette stitch, except for 5 stitch on each end that I kept in garter stitch (stockinette stitch is knit 1 row, purl 1 row). I used 1 skein of Bernat's Baby Boucle 10.5 oz. skein in Fancy Free ( only thing I can find on the label that seems to be the color name).
The knitting was pretty mindless, but I am not sure I would use the same yarn again. I kept having issues with catching the bumps in the yarn with my needle.
D has another check up today on his eyes and then a dental cleaning as well. I have my cleaning next Tuesday. These are for our 6 months cleanings, but since I have to have mine at 8 am (no lunch break - work 8 hours straight), then I have no lunch hour that I can take to accommodate it.
Then Tuesday evening, I have an appointment to give blood again. For years I wouldn't give blood, I hate watching it on myself! But a few years ago, we were asked to donate while we were at West Point for the troops and so I decided I should just start doing it. This is my 3rd time here.
It will just be me & C for the next 2 weeks here at work, starting on Monday - as far as the main offices goes that is. R leaves for Corpus Christi on Wednesday to be with her parents. Her mom will have a heart bypass, valve repair & valve replacement on the 25th and then her dad has a cataract surgery the day after her mom is scheduled to be released. She will be out of the office until April 6th, since before she leaves her son, youngest daughter & 3 grandkids will be here for Spring break.
C is picking things up pretty good. Have felt like I am slacking the last 2 days, but I have been having him pack the orders by himself, leaving them open to be checked. Figure he will need to be able to next week, in case I am busy with phones, paychecks, etc. and can't get out to help him.

- Mamma has spokenMarch 18, 2009 6:05 PMEnjoy having your daughter home, I know the time will go by too quickly!!! Glad to hear that things are working out with the new guy. Also glad to see you post, I was worried about you, hadn't seen you on any of the boards the last couple (several) days.
Thanks! They are almost here. We are all meeting them for dinner. E will be a little late getting there since he has to close the gym.
Just been so busy & really feel like I haven't accomplished much of anything either. I had T (gs) Friday night to Saturday night, then Monday was D's 31st birthday. I had originally thought about asking if she would like to go to dinner, but forgot. Then she called me as she & the kids were going & invited me to join them - so I did & I paid for everyone as our gift to her.
Trying to make sure I have everything caught up at work before R leaves after Friday. We haven't trained C on the phones, so I will be the one to catch them all the next 2 weeks - 7 lines basically. Have been getting C oriented on making boxes & such & how to chose the correct packaging for orders to be shipped, etc. He is doing good, but there are still things that I have him change when I check over the orders.
Saturday should be A's birthday party & there is a boxing show - so not real sure if I can make both.
